The three main cloud service models are Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). They provide on-demand, internet-based computing resources, ranging from raw virtual hardware to fully managed applications, enabling organizations to lower costs and increase scalability. 

  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Offers raw computing infrastructure (virtual servers, storage, networking) over the internet. Users manage operating systems, applications, and middleware. Examples include Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, Google Compute Engine, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS): Provides a cloud-based environment for developers to build, test, and deploy applications without managing the underlying infrastructure. Examples include

  • IaaS: Highest level of management for the user.
  • PaaS: Balances management between the provider and user.
  • SaaS: Lowest level of management for the user (fully managed by the provider).
